Golden Vessel came to the attention of bloggers earlier this year with his skilful ‘I Need A Drone Bomb’, which beautifully remixed James Blake x Anhoni x Bon Iver. Having clocked up over 130k plays in 3 months, Golden Vessel is back with some more solo material, ‘Vines’. The track features Woodes, whose release ‘The Thaw’ channelled some The xx vibes earlier this year, and has already caught the ear of tastemakers Triple J, acid stag and Pigeons and Planes. The two artists together have created something pretty special with ‘Vines’, whose imagery centres around a couple navigating a relationship’s twists and turns: “Our tangled vines are branching out / I’m wrapped in you / I’m wrapped in ice”. The production is shimmering and quietly simmers in the background for the first half of ‘Vines’, providing a delicate support to Woodes’ vocals.
